Hi guys,

My friend has asked me to build him a new rig.
He currently has a laptop but wants to do HD video editing and so asked me to build a rig that would do the job well for him.
He needs everything, and I am going to overclock the system too.
There is no real budget, what do you guys think of this

the total is £1147.76
Is the graphics card ok for video editing and is the power supply enough

anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this

CPU more important than graphics for editing so any quad core should do..

dont get a freezer 7 cooler its useless

PSU would ge a great choice

might swap it for a tuniq tower then

i have one in my rig

any other thoughts

edit: forgot mention the on board wifi is important as the rig will be in another room from the router

I'd recommend more HD's in some kind of RAID config. Even RAID 1 is great for editing multiple streams. Also 2 monitors are a godsend.

HDDs are a must for HDV. I'm using close to 7TB of data! RAID is a must, RAID 5 for final versions and project files and RAID 1 for editing space/rendering etc.

Each hour of my tapes are between 40GB and 60GB
