For a friend
"OK, I need to hear from people who really know what theyre talking about
when it comes to Video and effects editing Software and Hardware.
Im just about to start my second year course in uni, doing Video
Production. And I've got around £2,000 to spend on a computer and
software for such purposes.
Ive used Avid Express Pro for a year and Its been OK. But because its all
I have used I have no frame of reference. Advice on software please.
Preferrably I'd like to stick with a Windows desktop, but I've heard that as
far as editing goes a Mac could be for me.
Is there software that Matches mac for Windows? The Editing for my
course is the priority, but then I would like to continue to support my
Windows multimedia; gaming etc...
Macs are a foreign language to me, Ive never used one. So please, baby
steps when speaking of Macs and such.
I do know that Ive heard the best things about Mac video editing software.
So I ask you, can this be matched affordably on a Windows Desktop? Or
is it really, no question, Mac is the way for me? Or, is there really not that
much difference whichever way I go?
What Software should I look at for the highest quality video editing within
my price range? For both Apple, and Windows.
£2,000-ish, I need the best video editing suite possible. Thanks for all input."
