Huy guys, I want to back up my bluray's to mkv's as I have a popcorn hour NMT and was wondering how can I use my shiny new HD 5970 to speed up the process? normally I use ripbot but will this use the processing power of my card?

cheers!

Not 100% but I think we are currently waiting for catalyst to add support to the 5000 series for avivo. Not sure about other software though.

Some of cyberlinks software can use your gpu. I've been testing it with my 5850. Powerlink Director can export m2ts files but not mkv afaik.

Can anybody tell me how long it take to encode a blu ray using your graphic card?
Was thinking of doing this too but wondering how long it take's and what the pictures like ?

If you can tell me how to do it, I will try, I have a intell i7 processor at 4.1ghz with a 5850

I tried to get this to work with my 5850 when I first got it but was never able to get it working at all.. It need an update to work with the newer cards thats for sure, and hopefully it'll use the power of the cards and not just be an efficient CPU codec.
