Hey all, i had a problem recently with my windows install, im glad to say thats now fixed after some help from the forum! :p

But i have another pressing issue that needs your attention.

I currently use Camtasia studio to create videos for youtube, at 15 minutes long or so.
However when i attempt to create a 30 minute video ( as youtube how now granted my channel longer video access) i find i can't encode it properly, it says it encodes all 30 minutes but actually encodes around 18, dropping off the encode halfway.

This problem has happened concurrently to another problem, not being able to render .Mov files, which generally create a nice quality file image, to then be converted and uploaded later via windows live movie maker.

I know i should go to camtasia themselves with this issue, but i thought id ask if anyone knows of a better software that is more reliable? camtasia has started crashing randomly aswell now.

if you have an Nvidia graphics card then this is free and should do the job way quicker than your processor ever could:

http://www.mediacoderhq.com/

no idea what its like, but the guy who posted it on the forum that came near the top of the google search seemed to like it a lot. its free so if you dont like it theres no harm done

Tried it, it crashed when i tried to use it, i don't understand!!!

anyway, i can render like 2 minute files in camtasia, ill be using a joiner to make a 30 minute one, but i really wish it would work!

BTW i am using the OCUK overclocking profile that came with my pc, but i had updated the bios so the customer support team said that voids the warranty on that overclock, could it also mess the overclock up so it causes instability during encoding? coz if so i shall remove the OC and try without!

The program crashed or the computer crashed?

If it was the computer then possibly your OC is not stable - test with prime95.

If the program then I guess this is unrelated to your OC but you can test by turning the OC off and trying again.

Not sure what format / codec etc is required for youtube but here are two more quality encoders (media coder is good as well):

http://handbrake.fr/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/

I have used both for x264 encoding. Both work well - megui is a bit more fully featured but more complex.

The program crashed, okay ill try all of them again! problem is i need to make the video smaller, camtasia is the best way to do that, remove the black bars and make it widescreen

Hey all, just tried these files again on my laptop, seems like they wont render on either of my computers, well, they render but only a couple of minutes at a time, ive got to whittle it down to a few things?

Fraps version has bugs? (was a new version i used to record mw3, previously using 3.4.3 now on 3.6 something)
Camtasia studio cant handle it (normally use to render all my other videos :S)
Mw3 has a new technology to it which causes problems when encoding a lot of large files ( the video i was making was over 100 gig for 30 minutes of footage.)

Codecs? lol

i shall have to find a joiner program for these files as they wont render in anything you guys suggested and only in small parts for camtasia.

I've joined, edited and encoded over 700gb of fraps files with adobe after affects this past week, took me an hour to get used to it, but rendering went without a hitch and the options available are amazing.
