Looking for some software to adjust brightness/contrast of a video file. I know adobe premier will do this but is a bit over the top just to adjust brightness.
Something like virtualdub will do it (though not sure you can open mkv directly in it) - but as above unless you use some kind of lossless recompression (which will make filesizes about 4x bigger than the original compressed file) the quality will be degraded - some of the cleverer codecs can recompress just a brightness/contrast change without additional loss or minimal loss of quality if setup correctly however.
