Video Game Baftas

True. Whilst I absolutely LOVE Burnout Revenge, I don't understand why it won a technical achievement award either.

But then again, these awards will never please everyone, just the masses.

Some very odd results in there. How does Shadows of the Colossus beat GRAW in for best Action Adventure but not even get nominated for best game? D&D for best online? Buzz beats brain training, guitar heroes and singstar for best casual?

As was said, its a pants nomination thing and i dont ever remember being allowed to vote for them :p

What a load of rubbish, this is on a par with music awards. At least Guitar Heroes won something, imho that game deserves it. GRAW is a good game but no way the best thing out.

D&D Online? Does anyone actually play this game? I though everyone played CS, WoW and Guildwars online?

How does Fifa get 2 nominations! This is pure filth I tell you.

Can't really agree with the innovation award going to what is basically an electronic IQ test.

Buzz for social / casual I can agree with 100%. Had a huge laugh with the general knowledge and music ones at a house party. Also I like the way a thicket like me was able to beat a load of teachers and 'interlectual people' :p

GRAW whilst I love it online and local multiplayer I couldn't give it best game. Although I have only played the 360 version and I hear the PC one is quite different. a lot of the others I've never heard of tbh :o

To cut it short, the PC version is poo. ;)

As with all industry awards, you have to wonder how much "lobbying" goes on by industry execs behind the scenes. The Oscars are notorious for it, but because of the high profile, I actually think the impact isn't as significant as for other industries.
