Right now I'm watching the new episode of Consolevania.

Consolevania is a video games TV show (broadcasted/distributed via the internet) made by a group of people who actually have a passion about video games. This show is in a different league to Gamezville. It has brilliant music accompanying it and the sketches are extremely funny aswell.

It is aimed at the mid-teenager+/adult age group so I warn you there's some swearing in it.

The Team have just released the 6th episode of their 2nd season and if you so wish you can get it from this page.

There are two more episodes after this one and that'll complete the second season after that the creators will be working on the second series of videogaiden for the BBC. The 1st series was only available to people with BBC Scotland (or Sky), no news as to whether that has changed. That should be with us around Autumn.


I really appreciate it if you've read all of this or checked out the show I assure it's worth it.

I find the 1up show patchy, sometimes its good sometimes it aint (John Davidson the English guy normally talks the most sence).

The 1up Yours audio podcast Is better I find as its more discussion based with 4 guys just chewing the gaming fat.
 
thanks for letting us know about this latest episode, I have all the others, this is by far the best games show ever, completely hilarious and honest reviews.
 
Great Reviews :D It's just a shame they use such crap compression and miniscule bitrate so they end up looking awfull, seriously mp3 and divx in the days of ogg and X.264 what were they thinking? :( I suppose if they actually captured the video stream with a tv card instead of filming the tv it would look a lot better anyway....

I got the low quality one when it was released as the BT one hadnt been released the same time. At least the reviews these days dont have the flicker that came from recording the game source by holding the camera in front of the TV :D
 
Wasnt that impressed with this TBH had some funny parts but over all they seamed very much like a bunch of sonyfanboys.....

Are you talking about the latest episode or the show in general?
 
Saw this the other day, Consolevania is great. Slightly disappointed they didn't slate any games this episode, those reviews are usually funniest.

I watched 6 epsoides and overall i felt that they didnt have much time for nintendo and microsoft few examples

The 360 oblivion review was really poor this is a fantastic game
And the ongoing joke about microsoft and nintendo loving each other was lame
At no point in any of the shows i watched did i see any critisisim of the PS3 and its cost,poor launch line up and boring pad

in fact their was times when the reviewers made coments like "you dont want this you want a PS3"
The fact that the PS3 hasnt been released yet and they are already telling people they should want one is proper fanboy

Like i said this is a shame as in general i liked the way the show was put together

most of the episodes are really old, it takes months between releases, so they haven't had much time/space to do and recent PS3 jokes on recent pricing etc.

Notice they did take the **** out of the motion sensor demo from e3 this last episode?!
 
Also on their blog they commented on how journalists have no balls i.e. not asking Sony why they copied Nintendo with the tilt sensors in the controller, also they had a video commenting how sony's boring. In the Far Cry review when he said "you want a PS3" he was being sarcastic. Also he certainly wasnt negative about Oblivion, he said it was lots and lots of fun.
 
I know that they gave the oblivion review a good score but the review was pants

like most i have seen they never really go into any detail and the reviews are far to short


And to defend my other point (about them not saying anything about the stupidly high price tag of the PS3 when making the last epsoide) the price of the PS3 had been released and they would have known about it because they used some of the footage from E3 in there comic strips but nothing was said.

The price of sonys next console is very big gaming news

We all know about the price about the PS3, do we need to hear any more about it?

I thought it was a fair review of the game but what was nice for someone who hasn't played it was that it was funny. We all know its a good game so we don't really need them to go into too much detail.
