Hello guys. Back in April of 2015 i purchased the "Sabranco Asus Z97" Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.50GHz Overclocked Pro Gaming Bundle **Limited Edition**, from you.
For the first two months, it ran perfect alongside a GTX 980 KINGPIN. Back in June i started getting CTD/Black screens in games, No blue screens or complete locks as i was always able to get back to the desktop. I'd get notified that the Nvidia driver had stopped responding then in the reliability timeline i would see "Video hardware error". with the error code of 0x117. GPU temps were always normal. Always under 60 degrees with my custom fan curve, the same can be said for CPU temps.
Op top of the that, I've lost count to how many times I've reinstalled nvidia driver with the DDU software.
Over the past 6 or so months, I've replaced the PSU, from a Be Quiet Dark Power Pro 11 750 watt to the 850 watt model alongside the Cablemod custom braided cable set. Reinstalled windows 7 on a brand new 2tb 850 Pro SSD. Regardless i still suffered with the Same issue. I then RMA'd the 980 KINGPIN to you and i was told everything was completely fine (no fault found) however the issue persisted. On top of the that the original Phanteks cpu cooler than came with the bundle would no longer screw into place after i installed an extra 8gb of RAM. It looks like the screw has threaded. However I'm more concerned about the "video hardware error".
I then purchased a Asus GTX 980Ti 20th Anniversary Gold Edition from you this week. The GPU is amazing, it's hitting 1480mhz out the box without any tweaking. It's touching 17000 in fire strike with a graphics score of 21000. The asic is 75.5% too.
But low and behold, 10 minutes into a session on Farcry 4 last night and the same "Video hardware error" issue is back - http://i.imgur.com/lzszBKY.png
The game locks up and I'm back at the desktop. Here are some shots of the system, alongside afterburner and firestrike scores - http://imgur.com/a/7GJgp
I called OCUK yesterday and i was told on the phone to run memtest86. It ran for 15 hours throughout the day with no errors found.
System specs -
Asus Sabranco Z97 Motherboard
4970k @ 4.5Ghz, 1.250v (OCUK bundle settings)
16GB Avexir Sabranco 2666mhz Ram
Be Quiet Dark power Pro 11, 850 watt with Cablemod Cables
GTX 980Ti 20th Anniversary Gold Edition (Stock)
840 Pro 1tb SSD
850 pro 2tb SSD
850 EVO 250Gb SSD
x2 Corsair 960GB Neutron XT SSD
I'm going to take an educated guess and say I don't think the PSU or GPU is the problem as i was having the same problem with the 980 KINGPIN and the different power supple installed.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks guys.
