video lag help

when i play video files i.e from real media player, movies etc... the video plays ok but it pauses at times while the audio plays normally, then the video skips to catch up in a few secs.

Anyone know what the problem is?

are you streaming these videos via the internet or do you have them on your computer?

Try VLC media player ( google ).

when i watch dvds, its an old pc manufactured packard bell very old. i just need a few answers as to why you think that happens? could it be the drives? or the ram?

if its the ram then i might need another ram of memory.
