I have been asked about installing a small camera connected to a remote screen for monitoring an unmanned area.
The idea being that any visitors arriving can be greeted etc.

There is NO intention to record the feed, but I wanted to check if this still classes as monitoring under the law for CCTV?
Should there be signs advising this?

Having quickly read the following, especially (2.6 Guiding Principles - Point 3) I'd say yes.

"There must be as much transparency in the use of a surveillance camera system as possible, including a published contact point for access to information and complaints."

Surveillance Camera Code of Practice

Although I might be totally wrong

Thanks both.
I'll send the link to those in charge and they can decide :)
I couldn't find anything for the UK when I looked

Despite what you might think, the ladies changing room does not count as an unmanned area.
