Heya Mac Gurus!

I've a couple of question regarding putting some videos on my iPod Touch.

1. What is the legality of ripping a DVD i own (in Handbrake, for example) and then storing it on my iPod Touch? Could i be told i'm a naughty boy and is it something i should avoid if i want to be 100% Squeeky Clean (which im not)?

2. What sort of compression rate should i look to use in Handbrake (or similar)? For example, it's a 16gb iPod Touch, which isn't huge, and i'd want to stick the entire series of FireFly on. How much space would this take? Or, an easier question, how big would an average movie be in a good quality?

3. ????

4. Is HandBrake the reccomended program (free) for this?

Many thanks :)

Who's going to know? Who's going to tell you you're a naughty boy?? I do it all the time, don't worry about it.

It has an iPhone/Touch setting. I've got 40 videos (series 3 of 24 and half a series of another show) on my 16gb Touch currently, all TV shows from DVD rips, plus 714 music tracks. A typical US TV show (40-ish minutes) is between 300-400mb using the built-in setting.

I like it :)

Oh i know, but i'm just curious all the same. I dont any illegal movies so im not really up on the law of it all. I'm just curious if im allowed to make that copy if already own the DVD (especially as it's just going on my media player).
