For some reason my netbook freezes every now and then during videos, only when played on say MPC or VLC, flash stuff plays fine but when playing videos locally I get this slight freeze and the audio loops, it only happens for 1.5 seconds at the most but it is very annoying.

Anybody got any ideas? I'm gonna try taking out the SATA controller driver so it uses the Windows default and gonna see if there's another version of my sound drivers or something but aside from that I'm not sure what else could be the problem, it's not short of ram or anything either.

Netbook is a HP Mini 311c

I've had the same issue for a few weeks when playing video through MPC, WMP and VLC. Yesterday I uninstalled the K-Lite codec pack and and then installed just MPC. Seems to be working fine now. Only seems to be an issue with the latest K-Lite pack as never had any problems before.

If you've installed MPC via the K-Lite pack then try uninstalling it and install only MPC.

get yourself CoreAVC 2.0, and with that and using MPC (windows media classic) it'll work wonders for your netbook, even x264 plays back faultless

I just use MPC Home Cinema on its own with no additional codecs, I installed proper sound drivers and still get the issue, not sure if CoreAVC will help or not though since I can play 1080P mkvs fine already, it's just this random skip that occurs! :(

I'll try the latest MPC HC release and see if that gives me any luck. :o
