video recording software?

Hi all,

need some video software for work to make tutorials on how to do computer related bits and bobs.

Other than Fraps ($37) and then using virtualDub to compress it what other choices are out there for video capture?

FRAPS is free is you record in 30 seconds chunks.

Are you recording yourself or the computer screen? If you want screen-capture stuff try http://www.screentoaster.com/

edit - I misread your post slightly, try screentoaster anyway. There might be better solutions out there but I like it and it is pretty easy

Fraps for gaming and Camstudio for desktop type apps, I reckon!

yeah, just tried FRAPS but didnt know it only really covers games.

Will try camstudio first to see if that covers what we need
