Video stalling when streamed

Any ideas why when playing a streamed video from say wimp.com, although there is plenty of data buffered (as shown by the slider) the video still stalls and jumps.

I have checked processor usage and RAM and none are overly used?

Running the latest version of Flash player? (assuming Flash content)
