Hi

I've been thinking for ages that its Virgins fault, but since having my tablet I've noticed that youtube buffers 1080p fine? However I try to do this on my laptop, my desktop or the family PC and it takes forever. Sometimes won't even stream 360p without buffering.

Any ideas? Seems strange that it doesn't work on 3 computers?

Thanks.

GFX drivers on the PC
NIC drivers on PC
Patch lead from PC to router

Could be any of the above, or even a bottleneck between router and PC. Are there any wall plates, switches, or old kinked patch leads in the rain?

Checked all this, and drivers are all up to date.

Nope, its really slow - its really weird sometimes its fine but 80% of the time its really slow. When watching iplayer it will sometimes stop due to insufficient bandwidth. Is this perhaps the problem?

edit:

We're on virgin 20mb package. Just did a speedcheck downstairs on main PC which is wired and it got 19mbps. Went upstairs to my room did speedcheck on my tablet and got 16mbps which is understandable being further away and wireless but my laptop gets 0.5-5mbps. So confused.. :s

The tablet is probably accessing a different YouTube server or isn't going through the Virgin Media YouTube cache. VM seem to have YouTube issues on a regular basis.

Good shout. Have you tried streaming on other sites at the same time? IPlayer in HD or Vimeo with YouTube in a different tab.
