Video Trancoding software for vista x64

As title really

im having trouble finding some good (well any in fact) video converting software for vista x64, i use avs media player normally but that doesnt work in x64

i need a versitile converter as well, but at the moment i need to convert from MKV - AVI

Any suggestions and i shall be very grateful

Roxio Suite 9 has some fairly good conversion functionality, dunno about mkv though, never heard of it. Works well on Vista 64 too.

dont think it does mkv, couldnt find any details on the homepage,
can someone confirm?
or suggest alternatives?

Try virtual dub, it may work on vista. It has to be my faviourite video editing/transcoding program.
