Video transcription software

Does anyone know a (preferably free/open source) transcription software?

I don't need it to capture speaker etc just raw word output in video files, I've a project I'm starting in my spare time which involves hundreds of rather long videos and in order to narrow down which videos have relevant content ( via key words ) I'd rather just be able to search via text and focus on those files.

Ideally it'd be locally installed so I can just do the processing locally and not on the web..

Well turns out Davinci Resolve can do this, media bucket > import media, right click, transcribe. You can even export it as a text file. Crazy!

I'll need to see if it can batch process, not the fastest at it but looks like it's largely unattended

There are various variants about, but this does what you want locally for free
