Hi all,
Background information.
Right so my sister being the gym bunny she is has a bikini competition in 2weeks. She entered a few comps with Miami pro before but now has entered a series of comps that would lead to the global 'Arnold' competitions.
Note: Google Melissa Haywood , (not my sister) will give you an idea about what bikini comps are about. 'enjoy'
I have been documenting her progression over the course of her simply astounding development with general stll images.
However , at the pending show I would want to video her on stage competing.
My gear:
Nikon D5100 + Nikon 35mm+ kit lens 18-55.
Monopod + tripod.
My questions:
Considering competitors will be moving about under harsh light.
I understand that video resolution is far below still imagery. So my glass needs to be fast to compensate as much as possible?
For stills the 35mm in my opinion has the IQ however, I think it will lack the range/zoom for video when competitors are on stage and moving around?
For video the kit lens I 'think'would be adequate for zooming etc... Just it's not the great in terms of IQ.
Am I right in thinking it's time for a good zoom to add to my kit?
Thoughts?
