Viewsonic 2025wm DVI Issue

well they claimed that they didnt have any 2025s available, i did ask why i was getting the 2235 but that was the answer they gave.

an image of the 2235 on my desk, the screen to the left is a iiyama 431s 17" for a bit of comparison. you can see the glossy kind of bezel which is nice. its TN panel which is supposed to mean it doesnt have as good a viewing angle, but i use it sitting directly in front so it isnt an issue. though tbh i can move 2ft left or right and maybe 8" up or down and its fine. considering i dont move it no biggie. also its only a 16.2million colour screen instead of 16.7 but im sure ill survuive. it looks lovely to be honest.

available at a rainforest near you for only £270

I had this problem on my Dell 2007WFP using DVI with a 6600gt and a 6600le (two seperate computers) I fixed the problem by changing my resolution to different resolutions in the options and then magically there was an option to change to 1680x1050 - it happened and worked fine on two different computers!

well good news finally I have a working 2025. I have been using it at work all day since receiving it and have managed to test it quickly on dvi and its all good.

The unit was missing the back panel so viewsonic are sending me a new one which is great. Have to say even though it took them three attempts to get it right I am amazed at the speed in which they gott the monitors to me considering I only reported the problem to them last thursday.

Hopefully this one will last the distance now.

all I know is that this monitor will love my new rig as i played the new c&c demo on it with everything at full and at the max res the monitor could take and it didn't even bat an eyelid at it. Where as my previous rig would have given up after the first few seconds.

think I will have to give my fav games bf2142 and far cry a go and see what this can really do.

Even though I have had my problems with monitor I still rate it as a good piece of kit and give viewsonic 8 out of 10 for customer service. I would have given them 10 had they got it right the first time.

glad to hear you got it all sorted dave. i have to agree the services they gave once reported was brilliant. the Customer service is probably 9/10 but the quality control on the screens in the first place could definatly do with being upped a few notches.

still sitting pretty with the 2235 though, lovely screen.

i'm so happy have finally hooked this up to my rig and having so much fun seeing everything as it is meant to be smooth, crisp and clear. I have maxed the resolution on supereme comander and included my old 15" tft as a second display and it plays beautifully.

hehe cool, my 17" iiyama is still sitting unused, im not sure yet if i am going to hook it up or not, 22" is jsut so much more than i had before that in mote sure i want it. and if i can sell it then i may. SupCom in widescreen is sweet though :D

well i was sitting here just now and the screen flickered, then it just came up with "no signal" on the DVI.

im sick and tired tbh.

EDIT: and now it works fine when i put it in the other DVI port. i meanwtf.

EDIT 2: well i tested the other DVI port and it works fine with my 17" iiyama so i cannot think of any good reason why this 22" VX2235 worked with the first port, then stopped and now works on the second port only. how can that make any kind of sence.

Whoooooooooooooooahhhhh....

The screen went a bit zany and mad - like some 60s psychedelic imagery and then fortunately returned to 1280 after I'd shaken my mouse about in panic.

Don't try that at home, kids.
Who knows, whats news around here  :o

as long as it is still in warranty you stand a good change. Viewsonic cs is very good. Whenever I have called them I have had a new monitor the next day.

Hmm I think I may have the same problem as the guys in this thread. My vx2025wm cut out displaying in DVI mode. It displays okay in VGA mode (which I'm having to use a DVI-VGA converter for as I have an X1900XT crossfire edition card). I've searched around a bit looking for a way to fix it and the only thing I can find in some funny jiggery pokery trick involving running it in vga and then taking out the vga to leave onlythe dvi connected, but seeing as my card only has dvi I can't do this. I've already tried reinstalling the viewsonic drivers with no joy. The display cuts out after the windows splash screen but will load in vga mode using the dvi connector, and the machine is without issue in running with the dvi-vga converter.

I suspect it's the monitor dvi connectors or the dvi cable - are viewsonic likely to deliver to my door and swap them out? (I'm still under warranty)

Anyone have any suggestions as to what else I could try before getting in touch with them?

well just after 2 months my replacement VP2130b is faulty as well. I truely have had it with viewsonic monitors.

The problem I have with the new monitor is that once the pc or the xbox is turned of the monitor turns off and you can't power it back on unless you flick the rocker switch for about 10 seconds or so.

now just waiting to see what viewsonic can do for me as i have gone through 6 monitors in less than a year and now they have no replacements in stock.
I think it will be either Dell or Samsung next.

when you guys rang viewsonic about your 2025 did they just ask for a s/n number or did hey ask where you got it from and do you have to have a receipt ?

only my DVI isn't working so i need to give them a call on monday

they ask you when you brought it rough date and then the serial number.

hopefully you will have better luck than me with your replacement monior.

As for my monitor I think viewsonic are finally going to give me a refund after this long drawn out saga.

funny thing was mine was ok yesterday and i had to change my system from water back to air so i could sell it and one of the things i had to change was the graphics card but when i powered back on i had nothing on the monitor so of course i thought i was what i had just done but then i tried it on VGA and found out it it was the monitor.

Well, getting my monitor swapped by Viewsonic in the next 2 days by the sounds of things, so at least the customer service seems to be good (on the viewsonic site they say that they don't do a collect and swap, just a trb for the vx series).

although I have to agree the service on whole is excellent but once you get a situation like i'm in they shut up shop and will not help any further.

hopefully I will be getting a full refund for my monitor given the problems I have had.

At least now I have a number of email addresses from their customer complaints department.

Gah, called up today to ask what was happening about the replacement monitor being delivered and was told that they weren't in stock and they wouldn't be in stock for a week or two. Has this happened to anyone before, and if I pester them to send me a replacement is it likely they'll be willing to send the next model up (vx2235wm)?
