Hey All

Looking at buying a new monitor in the next few days and I have narrowed my choice down to the Viewsonic VX2235wm 22" or the Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP 20".

I must admit I prefer the looks of the Dell but that extra 2 inches on the Viewsonic would be nice.

I play a lot of games so want good performance but still want good lucks which both of these have.

Can someone give me advice on which one I should choose between them.

Thanks, Sam

Cheers for that mate, just wondered if anyone could advice me which one would be best for me between those two I mentioned ;)

Anyone else

I'd take into consideration the panel technologies used in these models as they differ quite significantly. On one hand the Dell uses a more premium S-IPS panel technology whereas the VX2235WM uses TN Film. Take a look at the info about how these technologies vary here but it is worth being aware of that. The Dell offers much more functionality and imo as well, is better looking. The Viewsonic may well have the extra couple of inches which is nice for gaming and movies, but it depends if this is the only thing you will use the screen for or not.

Just to be a pain i'd just like to say get the
Belinea 102035W 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-003-BE)

Price: £209.99 (£246.74 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Cheers for that man.

Going to pickup a Dell today :D

I bought the Dell. And am happy with it. Except no matter what I buy I always end up with dead/stuck pixels. It came with 1 stuck pixel near the centre - shows up as a very tiny blue subpixel on black bacgrounds. Very hard to spot. Not visible from normal gaming or viewing distances. But when I was checking the back to see if I got an A02 panel I caused a black stuck (probably dead) pixel to appear near the top of the screen. Happened this morning. Shows up on a white background so obviously changed my application background colour in XP so it won't annoy me as much. Can't sent it back as it was a mate who ordered it and the packing is trashed, and although I could get away with saying I have 7 or 8 stuck pixels in the hope they come out and replace it (3 year swapout warranty), my mate would not be too keen. <sigh>. Will try one of these stuck pixel unsticker programs but I never met anyone that said they work.

Sigh...I guess I will keep the panel for now. I suppose I shouldn't be complaining considering the amount of pixels on it, and the fact both stuck/dead pixels are not that noticeable in gaming or watching dvd's or tv. It's probably a psychological thing.

Another mate has offered me a 19" Viewsonic VX922 pixel perfect in part exchange. Not being widescreen would suck watching dvd's and tv I suppose.
