man...I seem to have developed a dead pixel right in the middle of my viewsonic 2025...and allthough its hardly noticable...its still annoying. Its sjows as a white speckle on a black background (i assume its dead) as ive never seen one before. ANyhow...as its probably just less than 1 month old..how about sending this back and getting a replacement from viewsonic...whats my chances?

Does anyone actually know viewsonics dead pixel policy?

I contacted them yesterday...they said that they would replace the monitor...but further questioning from myself revleaed that it will only be a refurbished one! Man...my monitor is only three weeks old...and there going to replace it with one that could have been faulty 7 months ago. Not impressed!

I see what ** saying....but at the moment I have a brand new monitor...with a dead pixel (which really is hardly noticable as its so small...and never during gaming). Hey dont let me put anyone off this monitor...beacause I find it excellent and a lot of LCD manufacturers have a 10 pixel policy as apposed to just one pixel like viewsonic. Its just that I dont like the idea of getting a 2nd hand one as replacement for something thats only a couple of weeks old.

Do you think re-furbished is 'as new'?

if you look deep into the warranty guilines...it actually does say 'refurbished' as opposed to new....so my hope would be that the refurshied one was as good as new. I still havent accpeted the repolacement...as I filled out a customer complaint on their web site and hopefully someone will come back to me (its did say Id get a repsonce within 48hrs..that was Monday). Hopefully they will replace with 'new'...however if they dont i will more likely take the replacement.
