ViewSonic kicks out HDMI-equipped 24" & 28" LCD monitors

Looks like the competition in this area is getting better with Viewsonic looking to release a 24" and 28" LCD monitor. The specs look very impressive and "Vista Premium certified", for those who are waiting for the BenQ(Z) - this one may be released first.

However the styling may not be to everyone's taste as it looks as if it's based on the VX2235wm 22" Monitor.

28" seems very interesting... am after a bigger monitor that can double up for console use... and i adore my 2235 at the moment so might have to upgrade fairly soon

just wait till samsung get involved, who else smells price war.

The new sammy 24 is a TN panel, and yes while you may hate that its rumoured to be coming in at around £400 and 1080p hdmi

That review seemed to suggest $699 , which is about ?

Its strange as today i was looking at ViewSonic's 22" VX2245wm ViewDock monitor and then its big brother is born

Good to see some competition for the Dell on the way since I'd like to do the 20" to 24" upgrade this year sometime. 1080p and HDMI would be a real bonus.

If the 28" is a good price i might buy it

its got all the connections of the BenQ 24", but bigger screen! £700 or less would be fine..

Its certainly interesting however it won't be out before the BenQ by the looks of things. Its got a Q2 2007 release on the article... isn't the BenQ due late Jan/Feb?

Ive been waiting for a 24inch from viewsonic,, like I have had "ViewSonic VX912, 12ms, 19inch" for over 2yrs now and its been a superb lcd. So I want to stick with viewsonic for my next lcd.

I'm definitley going to buy the Viewsonic VX2435wm when its released - so any time after april at a guess, I cant wait, my VP191B has been excellent the last 16 months, would love to move to a 24" TFT & this fits the bill perfectly.

Nice stuff I see 24inch HD/Vista screens the next big thing for us gamers.... but im still bit miffed that come 6 months time TFTs will have even better colours/120hertz and be even more better but then thats technology...

Id proberly say a belina 22inch TFT is good for now give it 6-12 months or even 2 years and much better 24inch screens with Vista logos will be out and cheap

the 24 inch sems like an interesting prospect,i currently own a vx2025 which im very happy with,great for games and movies but the option of more connectivity and the larger screen size as opposed to the 2025 sounds very attractive

Well I had a IIyama Vision Master Pro 17" CRT from 1998 upto August 1995, made the switch to Viewsonic VP191b & I was like "oh my god wow" :eek:

to be honest a 22" widescreen would probally do me fine, but I may as well go 24" when they release it - hope they hurry up. Anyway yes from 17" to 24" lol you will have the "wow" factor for sure!

I think i'll e-mail Viewsonic UK about release date, as its now on the USA website!

Well I've had a reply regarding the new Viewsonic 24" LCD.

Hope OcUK will be stocking these, I will definitly purchase one! end of story!

According to the LCD product manager, the VX2435wm should be available towards the end of March/beginning of April. I trust this answers your query, but should you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact me.
