Viewsonic TFT doesn't power off

My friends Viewsonic TFT (19" - not sure which model, its about a year old) doesn't turn off when the PC is off. It shows the 'No signal' message (as if theres no PC connected.

Is this normal for a Viewsonic TFT? Any suggestions?

Yeah, well you could tell him to push the power button on his screen.

I have the VP930 and no, its not normal bigred. When I hit the software off button on my PC it powers down, turns off the machine including the monitor. All that should remain is the green power light on the lower section of the monitor to show its in standby.
