I can get both of these monitors for exactly the same price so im wondering is there any advantage of getting one over the other? Its gonna be my only screen while im at uni so it will be used for gaming tv/films office work and general pc stuff

The VP930 offers much more all rounded performance than the VX924 as it uses a P-MVA panel from AU Optronics instead of TN Film technology. This offers much wider viewing angles, deeper black depth, a better colour depth, and smoother movie playback. The VX924 has the slight edge in responsiveness, but the VP930 is still perfectly adequate for most gamers. The VP930 is arguably the best all round screen in the market now, and would be an excellent choice. Add to that the zero dead pixel policy of the VP series and the better ergonomics and i think it's a no brainer really :)

Thats just what i wanted to here Baddass thank you very much looks like il be the proud owner of one very soon :D will be nice to get off this ancient dying dell 15" crt

Is zero pixels policy for the life of the monitor?

Are Thunderflys able to enter the VP930?

(I ran your (Baddass) which monitor guide and this one was tops for me)

I supose it is for consideration one could buy a zero pixel policy monitor but have dozens of dead thunderflys whereas one could buy a monitor which suffers from a couple of dead pixels but the unit is sealed and thunderflys cannot enter?

Thunderflys can pretty much enter any monitor through the air vents, you just have to be careful /wary of it i think. The zero dead pixel policy i think covers fully dead pixels for the lifetime of the warranty (white / black pixels) but only covers dead sub pixels (red/green/blue) for the first 15 days. It's pretty rare to develop pixel defects over time really, they are normally something you have on receipt of the monitor which happen during the manufacturing process. This policy covers you for this part anyway :)
