Is the Viewsonic VX2025 20" any good?

I was going to get an Acer AL1916WS 19" but then I saw the Viewsonic and I can just about stretch to that.

Hi there, just reading about the viewsonic on the tft central site and i read the following, but am not sure what it means.

One thing to note for those who are gamers, the TFT itself doesn't offer any 1:1 pixel matching for games which don't support WS resolution.

Also I am also looking at buying this TFT but I only have an X1800XT GFX card, will this be up to powering games at the increased resolution, if I turn down the settingd?

Cheers.

1:1 pixel matching is where if you play a game outside of the full 1680 x 1050 WS resolution, it just plays it central on the screen with black borders around the edges. For instance, on some models like the Dell 2405FPW for example, you can play at 1280 x 1024 if you wanted to, and it just puts the image into a smaller window inside the screen. The Viewsonic VX2025WM doesn''t have this 1:1 pixel mapping option however. Other 20"WS monitors do though (eg NEC LCD20WGX2). Your graphics card should be able to handle a lot, but depends ont he game really and how high you have the settings

Well mine has slight backlight bleed and I mean slight 'cause it really depends on your angle.

I'm loving my vx2025.

Mine has only v. slight bleed as well, unnoticeable in normal use. I wouldn't base your decision on one guy who has extreme bleed on his - you could get that on any tft by any manufacturer, even those with the best QA depts. I love my VX2025, gaming is fantastic on it.

i've gone off the viewsonic for a number of things, like the 1:1 mapping, the looks etc. plus I want to buy the best TFT I can afford and the NEC is top dog :)
