Viewsonic VX2025 - PRICE REDUCTION!!

sounds tricky. The VX2025WM doesnt support 1:1 pixel matching on the screen itself, so if you play games outside of native res on the screen alone, they will be stretched. You can't play them letter-boxed. Regarding dual displays, i think what you're asking is whether you can use the VX2025WM at 1680 x 1050 while having a second display at 1280 x 1024. I don't see why not, surely you can customise output res seperately on the two displays. Can anyone with this screen confirm? maybe by hooking up their old monitor in dual display config? maybe need to use Ultramon too?

cheers badass,

basically I want to use ADOBE premier with the source video window on my 17" monitor and the Timeline and eq,etc.. on the widescreen.

so the software will span both monitors.

but I would imagine it would look pretty awful if i can only have 12x10 on the viewsonic due to the native res of the 17".

whats this about forcing 4.3 ratio via the nvidia drivers?

I'm pretty sure you can't span a desktop with different resolutions.

Having two monitors working independantly as seperate screens on a gfx card maybe, but not spanned.

but please correct me if i'm wrong. :)

yeah i don';t think you can span the image to two different resolutions, but you should be able to run them seperately as independent screens but on the same PC, if you see what i mean. The 4:3 pixel matching is an option in the NVidia drviers but doesnt work on the VX2025WM according to user reports. And so you can't do any form of 1:1 pixel matching / aspect ratio matching through hardware (the monitor) or software (graphics drivers)

thanks ,

so my options are the phillips and the NEC?
That's the reason I've been looking at the Philips over the Viewsonic - 1:1 pixel match. I like the look of the NEC but the problems seem woeful with regards to bleed. The Philips has been given good reviews so...

Just thinking, if i had a dual core 3800+/4400+, with 2 x 1gig of 3200/4000 ram, and my x1900xtx...this monitor shouldnt have any trouble running at high resoloutions should it? Or compatibility issues...

I'm running an xp3200+ with 1.5Gb Ram and an X800XT. Everything's on 1680x1050 with no trouble whatsoever.

Just don't like the look of the phillips.

The speakers look naff imo.

And the NEC has been plagued with problems so I'm stuck.

Im still worried about this decision...if its worth getting wide sreen over non widesreen...and if the 20" is worth getting over the 19"...Ugh, check my other thread if you want more info :(

Doesn't it? :( I thought that some people had said they'd managed to do it? Anyone out there who's managed to get it to work at all? :(

My opinion is that the 19 inch is not worth an upgrade if you are currently using a 17"tft - they both use the same resolution so you don't get a benefit in desktop space. The 20" is a worthy upgrade.

Agreed there would be no gain in getting a 19" over a 17" but getting a widescreen is a different matter.

My viewsonic2025VM comes today and ill be coming from a 17" tft ill post some pics if anyone is interested.
