Saw this monitor in the flesh and thought it looked great! What are peoples opinions of this monitor? Also, is it viewsonic that have the 1 dead pixel return policy?

Do a forum search, loads of opinions already posted about it. I can tell you it has an 8 ms GTG MVA panel, so it has good viewing angles and the people who have posted about it on these forums all love the colours it puts out.

There were some reports of backlight bleed on some, but with any model you're always going to get a percentage of people getting some backlight bleed.

Only other things I can remember from the threads about it is the stand is a little limited and there was some doubt over what aspect ratio controls it had (only matters if you're playing older games limited to 4:3). It's a quality screen though.

As for dead pixels, IIRC the Viewsonic 'zero pixel defect' guarantee was Pro series monitors only (ie VP models), so this wouldn't be covered. It would just have the standard zero fully dead/fully lit pixel warranty and probably somewhere between 5 and 7 dead/faulty sub-pixels. There's always the distance selling regulations though.

Well, I've got two of them :p

So yeah, I happen to think they're rather spiffy monitors! Not had a single problem with either. No dead pixels, perfect backlighting etc...

Great for gaming, great for video, great for general stuff, best two bits of kit I bought for my PC, IMHO. They're quite cheap for what they are, too.

Thats great! looks like i'm gonna buy one to go with a 8800 :)

Thanks for the info and help guys!

Have one...and like it much. I also have one tiny dead pixel....and from what I can see Viewsonic replace it if its black on white...or visa versa. There said they would replace my monitor...but I decided to keep it as you couldnt even see it and the monitor was only a few weeks old.
