so, how does this TFT compare to the BenQ FP241WZ 24 when using external HD equipment like HD/Blu-Ray DVD Players/PS3/Xbox360, etc at full 1080p? and is the colour black really black on this TFT? and how about the other problems that the past TFTs put most people off from buying them like 1:1 pixel mapping/ghosting/motion blur/response time, etc?

I cant comment on the Benq as I've never seen it.

I have run HD/Blu-Ray, PS3, 360 and PC into it and now I've sorted the colour/brightness and contrast I'm really happy with the images on the screen.

Blacks look good to me with nice detail and being as black as I've seen on any TFT. 1:1 mapping works perfectly and there is no ghosting I've seen and I have been looking.

Also how good is the response time on this TFT when playing high end PC games? and also the graphics quality you see on screen?

Ok I've fired up Stalker and HL2 and both look incredible. There is no ghosting at all as I've already said. The graphics quality is great thats the only way to describe it.

I've also changed to an official MS Xbox 360 VGA cable and that seems to have cured the problem with the auto adjust etc. If you want to run multiple devices into the HDMI I can highly recommend the Joytech Tri Switcher. Runs off usb power and allows 3 to 1 HDMI conversion has a nice little remote as well and does exactly what it says on the tin.

I would really like to see a review comparing not the size but everything else of this TFT to the DELL and BenQ TFTs.

If it turn out to be much better than the Dell 2407WFP 24 and BenQ FP241WZ 24, then I would be very interested in buying one :)

Can't help you on either as I've not had either to compare them. All I know is that this is a brilliant screen and does everything I want.

Have to agree with gibbo on this one, 28" is far too big for a TN panel, I've used 24" TN panels before and even that was hard, you only have to lean back in your chair and the top half of the screen will start to darken, infact even at eye level due to the size of the screen you will see uneven brightness, look at this shot for example,

Look how dark the blue is at the top of the screen compared to the bottom, after owning a PVA panel I really don't think I could go back to that tbh.

for the money it's not a bad screen if you can put up with that but with all the new panel technologies out these days and even better ones just round the corner I think TN has had it's day really.

Ok to clarify the digital camera is making that look a LOT!!! worse than it is in reality, its taken with a flash and with an overhead light which really distorts the problem. I'm sat here and there is a bit of difference but no where near the level that picture shows and certainly not enough to worry about.

theres always going to be critics with everything tbh! and at the same time lots of people who like it. Seems quite clear that it'd be worse viewing angles than say a dell 24"/27" but i bet it'll feel a lot more responsive on games.

Depends whats important to the person i guess
