Hi do you reckon it's a TN film panel? I am interested in this monitor. I know the dot pitch will be massive but I could do with the extra desktop space. I have seen it for preorder at £549.

Yep i know 3 posts in a row but i'm just trying to get this thread started.

Nobody else fussed about this? to me I know its the same resolution as the dell 24" etc but its still going to have very nice picture quality + 4" inch's and with it being a tn panel, surely it'll have less ghosting than all the similar sized panels that are currently available ?

Its being quoted as 3ms (grey to grey) but is this likely to be just marketing or will it be a huge tn panel with overdrive also? sorta like a supersized sammy 22" where you won't have to pray on getting an S panel? :D If this is the case why have they seemingly made such a hash of the 24" viewsonic compared to its rivals?

Seems people are just about buying them now in the US, however i'm still struggling to find much info on when they'll be available over here.

So who else is excited to see if these will be good? or am I the uk's only potential customer? :p

PQ won't be as good as a Dell 2407WFP. It will definitely have lots of overdrive if it's 3 ms, but even then the response time will be mostly just marketting. There really isn't any such thing as a 2/3 ms LCD screen, the fastest screens like the '2 ms' VX922 average about 8 ms and their quickest measured colour transition is 5 ms. The VX2835WM may turn out to be a little quicker than a 2407WFP but probably not enough for most people to notice.

Also I wouldn't like to use a TN panel of that size. The vertical viewing angles will produce a real noticeable colour gradient from top to bottom and you'll get bad colour shift every time you move your head. Personally there's no way I would choose the Viewsonic over a Dell 2407WFP, not given my experiences with TN, PVA and IPS screens.

ive seen the vx2435 (24ich pmva panel) and im not that impressed, glossy bevel, no dvi connection, just dvi-hdmi, image is very good but it lacks the features of screens like the dell 2407/benq fp241w.

im interested in a large lcd monitor but i hope viewsonics 28 inch turns out better than the 24, i curently have a viewsonic vx2025 so i hope the 28 is a bit better

I recieved mine yesterday and set it up last night. All I can say is WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW the image quality is just amazing, no motion blur blacks look black and its HUGE!!

I've run my PS3 thru HDMI at 1080p and that looks just brilliant, Xbox 360 through component again looks amazing but might switch this to VGA so I can get 1080p from HD DVDs. The PC I've tried through both HDMI and VGA and its looks marginaly better through HDMI.

I'll try to post some pictures of it tonight.

omg :D please do

I'm really curious

I'm not asking about competitors but did you have to buy from america or somewhere?

pics!!

Are the viewing angles as bad as people are making out?

Couple for starters. Top 1 is from Rfactor the second shows the screen size with the PS3 on its edge beside it. I'll try to do more tomorrow in day light.
