Just a quick query, has anyone noticed faster upload speeds on virgin media 20mb connection ?

I noticed just this weekend after uploading a few youtube vids then there uploading at 1.9mbit (as apposed to usual 0.7mbit I usualy get). I cant see any information on virgin media forums or there website that it has been upgraded. Speeds verified on the Belkin N1 display.

150 meg vids that take anything from 20 to 30 mins to upload usualy have been taking only 5 mins or so.

Think you must be on a trial they are currently preforming upload trials in Lincoln.

Log into your modem @ 192.168.100.1 username/password = root

Post your operation config but block out your mac address.

This is all thats on Operaction config page. Interesting !

Network Access : Allowed
Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 20480000
Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 2049000
Maximum Upstream Channel Burst : 8160
Maximum Number of CPEs : 1
Modem Capability : Concatenation Enabled, Fragametation Enabled, PHS Enabled

Yeah your on a upload trial:

Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 2049000

Means your upload rate has changed to a maximum of 2mbit.

They are also trialing people on 50meg with a 5 meg upload, most likely to be rolled out to all customers once they are satisfied with the trial results.

VM are starting to increase the upload speeds because they are kind of "worried" with BT infinity offering up to 10meg upload for the same price.
