Vile and disgusting

In fairness, neither the English family have contributed anything, nor the ficticious family from Europe. Surely, it is the system at fault

Very true however at some point a family member in a previous generation must have contributed at some point to the system. Those that just turn up most certainly have not had family contributing at any point. Anyway, as it goes, this is still something that should not happen but as has been said by your self and others.. it must be the system at fault.

If the house is unfit for Human habitation and the parents let it get that way then surely the kids health is at risk and they need taking away until the parents can prove they can look after them without human and/or animal poop present!

I can't understand any parent letting their kids live in conditions like that, if they think thats normal as kids imagine what'll happen when they grow up with kids of their own!

At least this story is of an English family... What really grinds my gears is where a family of 10 from a country in Europe decide to travel over and get it all handed on a plate after just a week of being in the UK.

It's the government's fault for being the first ones to allowe Poles and other Eastern Europeans to freely immigrate here after they were incorporated in the EU.

France didn't do it, Germany didn't do it, Italy didn't do it. Why does England have so many benefits anyway? Seriously, tell people to get a freaking job. Lazy bums.

IMO anyone who increases the size of their family whilst on benefit should be fined the equivalent amount.

They are taking the **** big time.

Does this actually happen? I don't think it does, and I think you re exaggerating. A foreign family cannot walk into this country and get "everything on a plate", unless, I guess, they are a refugee

I'm not getting worked up about it, I wouldn't be surprised if they're just pulling "facts" and numbers out of their collective arses.

how do they expect to fmaily of 12 to live in a 4 bed house? (not that I think they should be given a bigger house)

It makes me dad to think that I spent 7 years in uni to make 30k per year when people get to sit around all day doing jack all and get given 100k per year.

Its good for the labour market, keeps it nice and flexible. Also it increases the working population, which is important as we have a rapidly ageing population.

Yeah, just mind you don't get too worked up about this. The Daily Mail are the biggest trolls in existence, and I bet they have twisted this story in someway...

They wouldn't do such a thing!!! The point in letting in Polish migrants was to fill the empty job posts, the jobs everyone else doesn't want to do / oversimplified explanation.

From experience, the Polish do actually do the jobs nobody else wants to, and they also do a lot of important work. Where I live, there are many Polish bankers, nurses, lawyers, and so on... and I'm glad they do. I'm sure some will remember me saying this previously, but I never have a bad word to say about the Polish.

edit: It will also be our loss as they head back home in increasing numbers as Poland's economical climate continues to improve.

Seriously isnt it about time we sorted out the whole benefit system??...i mean just dismantle the whole thing and start from the beginning and make it so that its not attractive to would-be dole scroungers or benefit whores.

Im thinking something along the lines of making them pay every single penny back once they have found jobs...that will soon sort the idiots out who see it as an easy ticket to a comfy life.

If they hadn't of allowed A8 migrants the dependency ratio would have gotten even worse. In general it was a good idea but you get the odd case when people really play the system and get something unfair out of it. A level geography *** :D

Then people would not go into employment as they would not want to pay back the benefits.

I think it is about making social security payments a safety net and not a trampoline.

Negative income tax - where every family is entitled to an actual liveable allowance for two parents and X kids (whatever the national average is) is, adjusted for location.

(of course, the X kid limit couldn't be applied retrospectively)
