Villa holidays - somewhere not quite as hot

I suspect I'm going to get a few replies saying ask google - but I'm struggling to formulate what I'm after into a question that Google returns much for - so bear with me please. :)

Over the last few years (lockdowns excepted) it has been our habit to take advantage of my daughters school having a non-typical 2 week holiday in late May / early June, and go on a Villa holiday with family at that time.

Several advantages to it, including slightly lower prices - but not the least of those advantages is that the traditional destinations for this type of thing - Algarve, Costa Blanca, Menorca, etc - are a little cooler than they are during the summer holidays. We're talking expected highs in the low 20's rather than high 20's.

My daughter moves up to high school this year, and that school has only a weeks holiday in June. In fact the only 2 week holidays are Easter and Christmas, neither of which we are keen on going away for. So that means we will have to use the summer holidays like most people do.

So - after that long winded intro - what I am asking for OCs sage advice on is:

What destinations are there which have expected temperatures in the low 20's during July / August, but are still likely locations to have large rentable villas with private pools?

I'd be delighted to hear recommendations.

You could look at somewhere in the French Alps perhaps. The elevation will mean temperatures shouldn’t get much above 25c even when it’s hot in the valleys. We tend to go to La Clusaz or Le Grand Bornand, and pretty sure there are chalets with pools around.

What about around half way down France, e.g. La Rochelle area? It won't be as hot as the Algarve, Costa Blanca, Menorca, although still maybe higher than you're asking for.

Cheers guys, some good ideas there.

I had wondered about the Gold Coast of France, as still on the Med, but significantly further north - but doesn't seem the temps are any less. So maybe the Atlantic (well Bay of Biscay) coast of France could be a good shout.

Jersey sounds interesting - and I hadn't even considered going for mountains rather than coast, so that's an idea too.

We have done the UK in the past - getting a house with an inside pool instead and it works quite well. Not quite the same as going somewhere sunny though.

I might be asking for the impossible - not quite as high temperatures, but the same high probability of no rain.

temps went over 40C last weekend.

With global warming, climate bnds have shifted significantly.

Lower 20s in July or August will mean sticking to the UK, or looking at Norway coast for example

Fuerteventura, mainly Caleta de fuste has great villas around the 2 golf courses, campo de golf being the better ones.
Usually you have to book a year to 9 months in advance though.

Oh god what a dump. The only place where fat old English go and rent mobility scooters as entertainment.
