Villain protagonist games?

I feel like I'm in the mood to be the bad guy. Wondering if anyone can recommend any decent villain protagonist games or games where you can play through as a 'baddie'.

I know Steam does have a category for them but many of them I wouldn't really say you play a villain.

For example Overlord, which I did enjoy when it was first released, I still don't really feel like a villain. The difference between good and bad felt a bit cosmetic really and the enemies you are against are essentially 'bad' anyway.

I remember playing the first Baldurs Gate as a kid. It came free with something. Was way too young to understand what I was doing. Pretty sure on my first game I got killed in the starting room. :cry:

Perhaps it's time to give it another try.

What's the companion management like though? I'm weird in that I like having companions (after all I don't want to be lonely on my adventures) but don't like micromanaging them too much because I want to play as my character rather than feel like I'm actually 4 different people.

That's one of the things that kinda killed KOTOR II for me, when I think of my favourite Star Wars characters none of them ever had to worry about carting round a bunch of people that couldn't tie their own shoelaces without them clicking through 4 menus.
