My grandmother passed away last June and we are currently redecorating the flat. We have a mantlepiece which we do not require anymore, it is from the 1930s as it has a label on the back.

Anybody have a idea of any shops or dealers who would buy it, im in the Newcastle area.

there is a furniture store in Newcastle, just down from the cinema, mostly tat though

a sightly better bet would be antique furniture place in Stafford next to the jail,
called 'Browse' AFAIK. It has that kind of stuff.

post a pic, someone here might be looking for one, I know a few years ago I'd have been interested ;)

edit
of course I'm assuming you mean Newcastle-under-Lyme here, rather than the one up north :D

Newcastle Upon Tyne, the only real Newcastle :p lol. And its just the mantlepiece not the fire. Pics of it are on my flickr here.

Mod's, know any for sale needs to be on MM so im not selling it in this thread.

Unfortunately it is probably a bit like the piano I tried to sell. Everyone said it was worth 700 quid, but no one offered 200. In fact trying to give it away ended in someone unhappy that I wouldn't deliver it 45 miles. Eventually it substituted a day at the gym and gave my sledgehammer a work out.
