I have a desk similar to the one in the picture below. I want to change my setup to a black and white theme, but instead of spending £100 on a new desk setup, I am thinking of vinyl wrapping my desk with a gloss white. Has anyone tried this before, any tips?

A guy vinyl wrapped his desk in the show us your desk thread, think it was the same desk as your picture. It looked pretty good.

OK, so the idea of wrapping the desk doesn't look like it's going to work. I'll probably go down the route of painting. Any ideas which paints would work best and be resistant to scratching? I use a a large surface pad on my desk for my keyboard and mouse, so the movement of my mouse won't cause any wear.

I wrapped an MDF desk with white carbon pattern vinyl. It came out really well, I took my time and used water, a squeegee and a hair dryer to get a good finish. No bubbles.

Theres a guy on here that has made some pretty cool desks and used vinyl wrap iirc. I'll have a search in a min to see if i can find the project.

As for painting I believe you can get paints specifically designed for furniture that are a lot tougher than normal paints. Normal gloss would be way too soft. Have a look for Dulux cupboard paint, or other brands might also do it.
