Waw!! I was really ill saturday evening!!

I was violently sick. Both ends!! lol......

Had massive shake in whole body, pain in legs, severe pins and needles in both hands and my fingers turned in towards my palms of which i could not straighten!

Ambulance called. They tried to calm me down as i was breathing very fast indeed. Guys, never felt that ill before!

Off to hospital where i spent time on a couple of drips. Eventually got better and released early sunday morning.

We thought i had food poisoning first but hospital said it more likely a viral infection.

Anyone else suffer one of these?
 
My girlfriend and a couple of family members have gone down with similar symptoms over the last couple of days, and loads of people at my company have been poorly recently.

It's just doing the rounds.
 
I've got a viral infection too, sore throat swollen tonsil and headache and high temperature.

I'm never ill normally (been about 4 years since I was last ill), not fun.

So, you were sick then had a panic attack?
All of those symptoms were caused by your rapid breathing, not by the infection.

Obviously at the time i didn't know that but the ambulance crew told me that my rapid breathing / panic attack was causing my fingers to lock towards my palms. They tried to get me to calm down. It was frightening at the time as i am no medal expert like you.

No flu symptoms. Hospital said it was a viral infection. Something out of the blue!
 
Your post made it sound like the infection was causing those symptoms when it later transpired that it had been explained to you as a result of the rapid breating.
 
As I've posted before, I suffer from one of the worst forms of adult eczema which covers 80% of my body. The constant itching and all over pain never stops.

It's even worse now, it's currently infected bacterial not viral though. So at the moment the majority of my eczema is oozing yellow pus and weeping some strange clear liquid. My legs are inflamed to twice the size along with being bright red and feeling like they're about 100°C. I've got the shakes, cold extremities (including my feet which feels strange given how hot my legs feel).

Oh yeah, and I still haven't had any proper sleeps since June thanks to the painful itching.

I had this for 48 hours about 4 weeks ago.

Did not call the ambulance. Did not go to hospital.

Must be more manly, no other explanation :p

This is what people said I had, but looking at the symptoms, Norovirus has silmilar symptoms to E.coli poisoning (had eaten foraged mussles and cockles the day before), general food poisoning, etc.

Impossible to know what it was, but like OP I'd never been so ill in my life. Two days of sheer hell, and a week of slow recovery. The worst two days were the weekend, so only took two days of work then back on Weds. My manager told me to work from home for the rest of the week as he sure as hell didn't want it :p

Blimey, that is terrible! I said in the hospital when i was leaving that i felt like a fraud! All theses people were around me who were 'really' ill. The staff were awesome and deserve a 1000 x more respect etc than they get.

Did i call the ambulance? Was i in a fit enough state to? Was you there? No need for ambulances with experts like you around!! :rolleyes:
