Viral Infection

I was sick similar to you, koolpc, about 3 or 4 months ago. I woke up about 4am desperate to empty the back end, mad trots. Went back to bed and immediately my stomach started cramping so back to the bathroom and hunched over the sink, I filled it half way and it was so thick it wouldn't go down the plughole so I scooped it by hand into the toilet. Had a wash and back to bed where I woke up again a little later and I didn't learn my lesson because I went back to the sink, not that it would have mattered because the force was to strong and I started firing on both cylinders. So scooping the sink again and now moping and bleaching the floor, have another wash and back to bed. This happened another 3 times but I had gained the foresight to get in the bath. And after this I was so dehydrated I drank 3 pints of water which did me no good as within 20 minutes it came back out so violently I got splash back, this happened twice.

After all that I was able to phone work and tell them I was a little bit poorly and won't be back until Wednesday.

I am 53 so not quite 'that' young.

Its probably 'paramedics' with your 'thinking' that have led to many people dying as the ambulance crew didn't see it fit to take them to hospital as they liked acting like God!

You cannot say what you have said without 'being there' and assessing me! These ambulance crew did, and saw it fit to take me in.

As it turns out, you had D&V and panicked. Sounds like Luke's reasonable conclusion that allocating his time elsewhere would have been the right choice.

I was not panicking because of sickness or diarrhoea. I started to panic when i thought i could not breath! And, when my fingers all went straight and turned into my palms rigidly and my legs were hurting massively! That is when i panicked. Being sick and pooing has never made me panic!

Lots of qualified med staff on here tonight!

Of course, you are an expert, i am sorry. Shall i pass that on to the Paramedics? Maybe they need re-training?

The paramedics knew what was wrong with you, they told you.
You then typed this thread in a fashion to make it seem like your symptoms, the ones the person told ambulance control over the phone were from the virus.

As Luke stated, they were not, they were from your overreaction to **** flying out of your **** at high velocity.

Glad you're feeling better.
Try not to panic next time.
Hopefully you won't get this viral illness again.

I see certain patient groups overreact to various things on a regular basis, wonder if its worth an audit of their social history...

Of course, sorry, i forgot you were there too! How did i forget that!!

So many experts on here!! Why do we need paramedics? Why ring up 999 when people should come on here first!!!

You will know when you in in real trouble hopefully that never happens. ;)

I have never ever had to call 999 due to illness, I been close but I just got on with it.

I have had symptoms similar to yours, I had to sleep on the floor in the toilet because I was projectiling from every orifice and was soaking wet with sweat.

A big jug of water and night on the tiles is all I needed, I was right as rain the next day. :D

To this day I still don't know what it was.

Your reaction is odd.
Your are taking the hump at people reiterating what you were the first to say.
Your phrasing was inaccurate, and when it was corrected you took offence, but in the most bizarre pattern.

You didn't get upset by a late DPD delivery at all recently did you?

Na, not me getting upset. Just wished i came on here when i was ill with all these medical experts around.:p

"Evening Standard" Headline:

'Man went against the paramedics advice while attending to him and refused to go to hospital with them. Instead he said he would get better medical help by checking out members of the forum he was on. OcUK failed to comment'.

:p
