I suspect so.

It's not looking too hot for the Sony battery manufacturing plants, unlike their batteries and things using them ;)
 
I think its understandable that to be safe the airlines are banning people from using batteries which are potentially a fire hazard or an explosive! Problem is though its far easier to ban them all from using batteries than to get staff to check the battery isnt one affected.
