Virgin BB issues

Guys, im on a crappy 2meg wireless connection shared with 5 others although its mainly used by myself and my other mate.

Basically, our BB has been pretty much dead since Friday - its like it allows very very short bursts of connectivity and then just dies. The weird thing is i ran speedtest a bunch of times and it reports back low pings and maximum available speed.

Has anyone else got the same issue atm? im aware that Virgin are trailing some new capping services but im in nottingham and wasnt aware that they were trialling this crap here? (if indeed they are!)

Help! router has been reset many times, repairs done, Winsock fix ran, etc etc.

Does it compleatly die, as in cant connect to anything? or does it just slow right down? Also, have you tried many different places? if the speedtests are always fine then maybe it could just be the other sites you are trying that are having problems, not you. If all websites and internet activity has problems though, and its not during the traffic management times, then im not sure what the problem is but it may be worthwhile checking to see if VM are having any issues in your area.

If it's wireless, and the pings are reporting ok my first test would be to run a cable and see how that does for a bit - intermittant connection problems on wireless could easily be down to something like another device on the same frequency (or something that is electrically noisy).
