Couldnt find a forum related enough so Ill try it here lol.

Does anyone know if they cap the speeds in Belfast ( I know it may be area specific), but from about 6pm to 11pm, im finding it slows...cuts me off completely only to reconnect about 1 min later...then it will go to full speed then repeat this process.

Reason being when it was NTL, never any problems...but since Virgin have came along between TV problems and now this.:(

The symptoms you describe do not sound like they are capping. Virgin do reduce your speeds between certain hours when you have downloaded a certain amount but it should not cut you off and then reconnect at full speed.

Everything you need to know is on that link.

So going by the table they have a wroking type of "caped" amount you can download and uload in one evening?

If its NOT the connection, can it be the Modem?..tho I dont think that could it due to the symptoms.

I'd suggest you phone them 5 times for a total of 7 hours until you get someone who speaks english other than what's written on the paper in front of them, then have a discussion bout why your internet connection is failing. Suggest they send an engineer, and when they say "if we send an engineer and nothing is wrong, we will charge you for the engineers time" respond with "It's your equipment that's failing, thus it's your responsibility to maintain it. technically you should be checking this stuff without me havign to phone you to remind you".

All will be well. I dont think it's capping.
