Virgin Broadband & Router choice

Just had VM fibre broadband installed.

The SuperHub 2ac has been installed in the front room resulting in a crapy WiFi signal in the backrooms.

Would a 3rd party router ASUS/Netgear etc help resolve the week WiFi signal?

If so what would people recommend?

Running Ethernet cable from the front to the back is not an option.

i just installed a ASUS AC68u, put the supercrap in modem mode, its loads better coverage and the router is a beast, I have no slowdown and it can handle loads of clients, unlike the VM rubbish

Guess I am lucky, had SuperHub 2ac installed and wifi signal was much better than old SuperHub 1.
