Right then

Just moved into my new student house in Derby and we've got our internet sorted.

Virgin deal. 20mg with skysports package aswell on the TV.

So far we cant go on these websites :

hotmail.com
showcasecinemas.co.uk

Cant even log in on msn. but can do everything else.

Can anyone help me here with this, its just a ball ache because i have to go on my phone to check emails realy need to get this sorted!

Cant get on argos.co.uk either .

Yeah he checked the connection when he set it up and its was fine. but obviously didnt go to those wbesites.

Yep im confident that its not a problem our end. tryed my new build pc and three of the housemates laptops via wireless and wired.

We have the new Virgin Tv box and supplyed VM Router that connects to the set top box via a white think cable which i think is a coaxial cable right?

Why did you ask me to ping bbc though?

that site works fine for me anyway. and tango i cant ping the sites at all.

speedtest isnt working for me now either, was at home when i did a test before i moved up.
i just start the test but it doesnt do anything. just comes up latency test error

Think i just need to call VM and tell them to send an engineer out

Yeah i can get onto the website, but when i start the test it just as an error message come up on the website.

And yeah i can get all the internet access apart from those websites ive listed

Did a trace route on bbc.co.uk as an example then hotmail.com just to compare.

Can anyone tell me anything about the data, since i dont really understand it apart from each step is a connection to another location right?

After calling VM they said that they are sending out a new router.
Apparently they have had many complaints of this kind recently and it is the cause of faulty routers ?

I can only hope that this does the trick.
