Just changed my ISP to Virgin and can no longer change my DNS with their 'SUPER'hub 2. I'm going to just put the hub into modem mode and will need a router that I can change DNS, doesn't really need to be anything fancier. Wi-Fi range doesn't matter much either as I have an extender already. So if anyone knows of a cheap router I'd be very grateful.

Thanks for the reply Kia, I've had a look at that router and I'm not liking the high failure rate and the large selection of recon units kicking around. I've got a pc, smart tv and my WiFi extender (with 2nd pc) wired to the router with two phones and two tablets using the WiFi. I transfer files around by usb3 or stream, never or at least very rarely copy files over the network. I've been looking at the Asus routers namely the n53 and n56u. Do i really need the gigabit ports when i'm only streaming?

You'll need gigabit if you have VM 120Mb/s.

Internet streaming won't require a gigabit ports.

The RT-N56U is a great router.

I would still recommend you get a gigabit router because it's nice to be able to transfer files between computers faster than ~10MB/s which 10/100 based routers do. Make sure its 10/100/1000 based

I've only got 60Mb/s. £80 is a bit more than I was looking at spending. Think virgin needs to have just modems if their routers are going to be this poor. I'm seriously disappointed after the great routers I've had from talktalk.
