I'm on 4meg broadband.
between 4pm and 12am I am only getting 256k at best.
I know about traffic shapping but this is a joke.
So after a week of refusing to call India for 25p a minute i finaly caved
only to be told in a voice i honestly couldnt really understand that this was normal ect.
after a few minutes of me screaming (not swearing) he made some diagnostics his end and agreed there seems to be an issue and would raise a support ticket for me. HOO RARRRR.

anyway i shall have to wait if anything comes of this.
I think I'm suffering from "Broadband Rage".

IS anyone here from "The Wirral" or Cheshire experiencing some terrible speeds during peak hours?

anyone else in Northwest england having terrible speed issues during peak hours?

i know they have traffic shapping but to go from 4 meg to 256k isnt on really.

Its not just specialised to cable though, my ADSL (and a few people I know are having similar issues) is screwed, its meant to be 8Mb, but at the moment I'm lucky to get 1.8Mb, at the middle of last week I was lucky to get a connection.

There are major problems with the link to colossus in Manchester at the moment, and as such a lot of normal routing is down. I guess this is due to the bad weather we have been having.

Thats put an interesting slant on the possible problem, but why would my broadband magicaly recover every night at 12am ? lol

I havent gone over the cap.
also i was told if i did my speed would be cut to about 2 meg.
my speed cuts down to 256k at best during the evening.

PS- I went over the cap one day and my speed must have been capped, fair enough but on virgin website it states the cap should only last 4 hours from the time the cap was given, this isnt the case its been almost a week you see.
