Virgin Hub 3 in Modem Mode - split feed for 2 sperate networks?

Hi there,

I was wondering if it's possible to split the feed from my Virgin hub, in modem mode, in to 2 to feed to after marker routers, thereby creating 2 sperate networks?

I've seem some simple 2 way rj45 splitters online, but I've read these will reduce the signal from 1000 to 100 mbs.

Is this correct? Is there a way to split the signal and retain Gigabit speeds to 2 sperate networks?

Thanks for reading

Regards

It won't work like that. It can only go to one router, and for what you want, a router that can do VLAN.

May I ask why you need to separate networks? In case whatever you're trying to achieve ends up being the wrong solution.

Thanks for this; I'm clueless with networking.

My current router TP-Link Archer 2800 sits with my TV, Sonos speakers, Virgin TV box in one living room, and also has cat6a runs upstairs to my work office (2 PCs - one work, one gaming), and my son's room with his PC for gaming and college work, plus Xbox.

I have another living room downstairs where my HiFi system lives. At the moment I have another run of cat6a from my router in to this room to feed my all-streaming system.

At the moment I use my gaming PC upstairs as a Roon Core, feeding my music streamer (Roon Endpoint) downstairs, through the network.

My idea, was to create a separate network purely for this room, and use a headless PC as Roon Core in this room instead of my PC upstairs.

It's probably a tad OCD, but I like the idea of my streaming system running on its own dedicated network, with no other traffic other than my tablet as Roon controller.

It probably won't make a scrap of difference sonically, but it's just a little project I've been tossing around In my head for a little while. Probably unnecessary and a little OCD but I enjoy these little projects.

Hope this makes sense; thanks very much for reading
