Would I see much of a network performance increase if I changed my virgin hub to modem only mode and then had a separate wireless hub?

I've had some problems with VM dropping connection on wifi

U using the super hub 3?

If so yes the 3 is garbage and virgin even agree and keep saying issues will be sorted in a patch at some point.

I went with ubiquiti edgerouter lite and the lite access point. Get 300mb over WiFi and network speeds are ace

If it's only the wireless that's a problem you don't need modem mode. You can just disable the existing wireless and add a wireless access point (or several) to handle that side of things.

As mentioned a current generation Ubiquiti UniFi AC access point is a good place to start. To get the full benefit you'd want to ceiling mount them somewhere central.

Yeah it's the latest one

This morning I've got the issues, 5g keeps dropping on wireless and even my wired at the moment is hit n miss with Sky not able to find a stable internet connection even though it's plugged in directly.

So with this that's why I thought about having a separate router / wifi point such as a TP Link Archer AC1750, Asus RT-AC68U or Netgear Nighthawk R7000
