Just wondering,Anyone here have the 20mb unlimited broadband package with Virgin media?

I'm confused because on their website they claim to have upped those who have the 20mb XL package to 30mb for free and dropped their price....yet when i check my broadband speed on speedtest its around the same as its always been, around 19.24mbps ish... and the price shown on their website for just the 30mb broadband on its own without a phone line (like we have) is £28.50 a month (Yet we pay £30 a month dead on?)

Ive sent them an Email asking why i pay more and why i still only get under 20mb now that's it suppose to be been "Upped"...but no reply as of yet. :p

And before anyone says its "Up to 30mb"...yes i already know that,But like i said my speeds have always been around the 19.24mbps mark,so that indicates that im very close to the exchange (and Virgin media have said that themselves to me before,I actually live about 10 mins away from it... so in that case i should at least be getting 27-28.

I know its not something to scream about on the bill price £28.50 - £30,But why not...if we owed the money to them they would soon be on to us. :D

So just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

there is a one off payment to activate it and also u would mabe need an upgraded modem/router and they would also possibly want to tie u into a new 12month contract , so ye this is not a "free" upgrade

and before u deside to go for this have a look around u will see there new modem is not very good and a lot of ppls speeds are below there 20mb connection that they prev had

Thats a bit crap then because like they said its not free then is it :/

and why would i have to buy the new hub when my current modem is capable of running the 50mb line?..i know i trialed it for them when it was first cumming out....so no need to upgrade the router,Just seems like they're getting greedy again.

I wish i could get out of VM....but i have no choice because there are no BT lines in out area so leaves alternatives ISPs choices very small. :/

If you trailed the 50Mb and have a modem capable then you should be able to just call up and be upgraded to 30Mb for no extra cost.
