Anyone here from the Baldock area with VM,

Whats the speeds like? I will be going with the VIP package going to haggle them down a bit on the price as im currently with sky.

So will be getting the BB XL package.

So how do you find them? Any good?

lots of people on here moan about them, but i think they are fantastic, if you want to save even more money with them, send me an email, with the subject OCUK Virgin Media and ill let you know a few secrets, unfortunately cannot be discussed on here, email in trust

the only bad thing is if you download too much too quickly they will limit your speed for 4 hours, but this only happens if your downloading movies, etc.

I know with some areas people say Vm are over subscribed, and the connection can get very poor.

Yep, after downloading a few things for work - definitely not movies or warez - I've just seen that their stupid bandwidth throttling has kicked in.

I've not downloaded massive amounts... probably 4-5GB over several hours this afternoon and this evening, but it was enough to trigger their limit. Considering this scheme is supposed to prevent the top 2% of their users who affect the remaining 98%, it seems that most of Virgin Media's customers don't download much at all if downloading >3GB puts you in the top 2%.

I'm almost tempted to reduce my monthly payment by 75% to match their reduction in my speed.
