Got a letter today saying all 10meg customers are getting upgraded to 20meg on the 1st May, sweet

£2 price rise to.

i got the same letter today , ive got a motorola SB4100 modem and these will be ok upto 38MB !
ive heard that some people with different modems will have to upgrade to another one

not sure about the 2MB but the 4MB is going to 10MB

Yup.. I got my letter as well... a bit disappointed that the price rise will come in 1st May, and the roll out of upgrades will only begin then... that kinda of implies I will end up paying £2/month more during the roll out process which could take days or years... they havent put any kind of timeframe in the letter.

I didnt know 4mb was going to 10

... i was thinking about upgrading, (so i could get the 20) but it looks like i will stay on 4 if its being upgraded too.

I got the letter aswell however no price rise for me, so thats 20 meg and the talk evenings and weekends for £30 a month

Not a customer sadly but i see enough complaints about speed issues, so why increase to 20meg when they can't even sustain everyone who's on 10meg.

They are constantly upgrading their network, and can certainly handle 20mb. You cannot expect 100% of the users to have a perfect service. Some areas are just much busier than others.

I also got the letter. Pretty sure my home:250 modem will be fine for the extra speed as well.

Make sure you have routers which can route 20Mbps though

Just a shame virgin cant seem to handle wow for an hr without d/c or 10k latency
