Virgin Media bundle question

I'm not exactly sure how it worked, but a Virgin guy came to our door and offered us it. Took it on the spot
Only way is to phone up. even then it's not set in stone. As we phoned up after 5pm, we had to phone back to arrange the fitting of our 2nd box (in my room 
). where we where promtlly told if we kept the phone we would get a further £10 of our bill.
No idea how that works. But we took it. We've made one phone call in 18months and that was to telewest on the free number. So no chance of us running up any sort of bill.

Oo , sounds like a good deal.
I'm paying 85 / month for the full package all channels, fastest broadband. No idea on the phoneline , never really used it

Do you play games at all? if you play any type of games other than maybe rpg's avoid virgin media like the plague!! My girlfriend got us migrated to it a few days ago without telling me to save £10 a month (
) and its absolutely terrible.
250ms ping times at anything resembling peak times (including right now @ 12:35) making games horrible, even gf's lagging on wow (serves her right!!). Max download speeds = 25k/sec on a supposed 8 meg line making even browsing extremely annoying. I'm not daft and its not a problem with my router etc etc, i've had various isp's previously and this one is just screwed, do a google search "virgin media ping times" and find a LOT of complaints of the exact same thing.
I rang them up today only to get through to an extremely intelligent woman who informed me that "some xbox live players have been complaining that the ping times are too low so we have now made our pings higher and now we're having people complain about that too"
She then put me through to cancellations, i explained the problem in pretty much these exact words "Migrated to this service a few days ago, its utterly useless for anything throughout the day, i want a code immediately so i can change" and the way he responded was as if he'd had 10 similar complaints the same day!!
Please do yourself a favour and don't get virgin media if your reliant on the internet!

I dont really think you can blame abc1 shutting down on virgin
load of rubish , must be something wrong ay your end
ive found NTL/virgin to be the best by far , on our clans CSS server i often get 3 or 4 ping , publics 15-20 , its that silly that people accuse me of having dodgy net settings constantly untill they check for themselves
i got full download speeds too
and too the guyt paying 85 quid phone them up first thing ! my mum was paying similar and they knocked about 40 quid off :O
